I was a teaching parent once a week for Max's first year on Fridays.  I would bring in a project to work on with the kids for a couple hours, lead a snack group, and then clean up.  Our family job was gardener. Each family was required to bring in snack for all the kids once a month, attend monthly general meetings, teach or sub and be on call for last call.  We also had to solicit donors for our school auction fundraiser in the amount of between $1200-$2000.  We also had required maintenance and housekeeping hours to complete each year.

Max needed to be picked up early a couple times the first two weeks because he had some trouble listening and following directions.
